North Kingstown Free Library is one of Rhode Island's busiest libraries, ranking #10 in annual library visits and library cardholders. Public funding provides for day-to-day operation, and community support allows us to flourish and grow. Here are ways you can help.
Friends of the Library
The Friends of the North Kingstown Free Library fund the library's many lectures, discussions, movies, performances and demonstrations through memberships, special events and the Book Nook.
The Friends also sponsor many of our important library services and collections such as:
- Mobile Hot Spots
- Book Club in a Bag
- School visits
- Summer Reading Program
- Landscaping of the library grounds
There are many ways to support the Friends so that they can continue to fund important library programs and services for many years to come.
Join the Friends! Membership is an affordable way to support our community! Memberships and donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. You may also donate by check (payable to the Friends of the North Kingstown Free Library) and mail to the library at 100 Boone Street, North Kingstown, RI 02852.
Donate books! The Friends of North Kingstown Free Library accept and maintain all book donations. Book donations are accepted at the library's loading dock on the far side of the building. Please see attached list for acceptable items.
Shop the Daily Book Sale! The Friends have books for sale in the Book Nook, located on the first floor of the library, that is restocked every day with fantastic books, DVDs, puzzles, and rare/special books. 100% of all book sales support the library.
North Kingstown Free Library Corporation
The North Kingstown Free Library Corporation manages bequests, trusts, legacies, grants and contributions such as those used to create The Fletcher Fund, The Payne Fund and the 20th Century Fund - all of which have generously supported library enhancements and capital projects for which general operating funds were not available.
