The popular on-demand film streaming service Kanopy is available for Barrington Public Library cardholders. Access Kanopy and sign up to start streaming films instantly by visiting barringtonlibrary.kanopy.com.
Films can be streamed from any computer, television, mobile device, or platform by downloading the Kanopy app for iOS, Android, AppleTV, Chromecast, or Roku.
Offering what the New York Times calls “a garden of cinematic delights,” Kanopy showcases more than 30,000 of the world’s best films, including award-winning documentaries, rare and hard-to-find titles, film festival favorites, indie and classic films, and world cinema collections from thousands of independent filmmakers.
HOW IT WORKS:
- Visit barringtonlibrary.kanopy.com.
- Select "Add Library Card."
- Create your free Kanopy account with your name, email address, and password. This password must be created specifically for Kanopy.
- You will receive an email verification so that Kanopy knows it's you and your email address.
- Once you receive the email verification, you select the link or button Kanopy provides for you. Then, you login and enter your Barrington Public Library card number.
- Tickets are used to play videos on Kanopy. Each month, you receive 30 tickets. As you browse for titles, you'll see the number of tickets required to watch each title and how long you have to watch it.
- Tickets reset on the first day of the month, and unused tickets don't roll over to the next month.
